The Sun God says summer officially starts on June 21 but living here in LA it feels like it already has started. Spring just flew by and here its August already so let me tell you what I've been up to.
I spent some precious time in Michigan and I do mean precious. It was the best of Midwest weather. We did some great boating and it was such fun with my new daughter. I’m very grateful to have the time off.

Thank you all for your amazing support during the release of “Crazy on the Outside”, my directorial debut. I really appreciate those of you that made it out to see me do some stand-up and see the movie. My life seemed all consumed by this movie in the past two years and now it seems weird that it’s over and onto the next project.
Should I start tweeting?
What’s the fuss with a public option?
Well, the post office for one. Please don’t get me wrong I have been a fan of the mailman since I was a kid. I sent many a valentine to Grammie and love getting letters and packages from the mailman. As a business it’s hard to defend sometimes with lines and spotty service.
Jane and I brought home a baby girl a few months ago – Elizabeth, and she is… little. In the sonogram pictures, she looked a little bit like a panda. Yes, a panda. I know, I know. What a relief! So that’s her nickname – Panda.
Jane was great during the ordeal; however, I grew queasy once I saw the size of that epidural needle. Looked like cool equipment but it...
Asking questions and getting answers has been on my mind since the election. It’s so easy to disguise a non-answer within exposition. So many questions -- I hear no answers. Where is the money? Somebody explain to me how one ‘loses’ money. Perhaps it’s all in accepting an agreement on the definition of ‘lost’. If I have ‘lost’ something, it means I’ve misplaced it. The money the economy...
New President and challenging times. It’s our time to show some courage and perspective. We all need to get involved. The new administration made some comments that the internet will be used to get all our opinions on a health care plan and how the new stimulus plans will be executed. We must demand that. We all need to get heard now more then ever before.
Fall in the East, surface of the sun here in LA. Even after so many years here I still have some confusion with fall in California.
This year I saw my kid off to her first year of college. It seems like I was just there… It’s exciting and sad to see her starting her life. I was just going through an old photo album and came across photos when she was a baby.

Crazy with Me, Myself & I
For the past three months, I changed direction a bit, and just finished directing myself, and a select group of fellow actors, in the comedy, ‘Crazy on the Outside’. Let’s consider this -- actor and director? What was I thinking?
Pre-Production:
At first, the scale of the project was a bit daunting and I felt overwhelmed, but as we got the crew hired,...
Holidays
I hope everyone had a nice holiday break and didn’t have to spend too much time with people who require extra energy. (Usually relatives!)
I spent Christmas with my wife’s family in Atlanta, whom I truly adore. Lot’s of laughing – lots of little kids and lots of sugar! You know the holiday 4 major food groups. The sucrose, the fructose, the glucose groups -- and, of course,...

Well, Summer’s over, except here in LA where summer tends to stick around. Football season brings “Oh shit it’s the same Detroit Lions” but I move on and do what I do… weep. Couple of movies wrapped, a trip to South America and some design projects happening.
The Other America
I just returned from a trip with my daughter to South America. It was nothing short of spectacular. ...
Hello strangers. As hard as I put in effort to journal in a timely fashion it seems like high school to me. I wait and wait to turn in the paper and time just flies by. Bare with me, it’s not for lack of caring that I share so sparingly it’s lack of focus more than likely.
Out of the Box
Trying new things can be a challenge and a gamble, but it can sometimes move you in a new direction – down a path you may...
