Journal Oct 2007

Well, Summer’s over, except here in LA where summer tends to stick around. Football season brings “Oh shit it’s the same Detroit Lions” but I move on and do what I do… weep.  Couple of movies wrapped, a trip to South America and some design projects happening.

The Other America
I just returned from a trip with my daughter to South America.  It was nothing short of spectacular.  Santiago is a blend of 19th century Europe, some Spanish colonial and a dash of modern architecture with the Andes in the background. A clever, smart and funny tour guide, Ignazio made all the transportation easy.

On to southern Chile and Patagonia which is like going north?  It’s the odd but natural reality for the southern hemisphere.  Brand new mountains seem to have been cut from the Himalayas.  Sea level, mind you, but with the jagged tops of mountains just sitting there, it’s impossible to describe the scale and majesty.

And then there was the Iguazú Falls – taller than Niagara and twice as wide.  It’s impossible to try to describe these bad boy falls…no way -- so much water, so much noise, so much drama.  We just hung out and ‘soaked’ up the power.Great trip.

My Six Wives
I’ve currently been in Connecticut shooting a film called “The Six Wives of Henry LeFay.  I play one of the wives.  NOT!  I’m, of course, playing the role of Henry LeFay.  It’s a modern-day comedy where my character goes missing – presumed dead, after a sky-diving outing.  My daughter, played by the lovely Elisha Cuthbert, has to cope with my current wife, and 5 ex-wives – all of whom want to have the honor of burying me.  And there in lies the comedy!  I’m also excited to be working with Andie MacDowell.  It was written and directed by Howard Gould – who use to write on Home Improvement.
More on this later.

Nick at Night
Nickelodeon has just started broadcasting the Home Improvement series.  I shot a lot of promos for them and they asked me to talk about my favorite episodes.  It took me a minute to think of one – but the minute I did – episodes came flowing out of my mouth.  It brought back such great memories.  Hope you all enjoy watching them on Nick as much as I do.

My Latest Personal Project

I’ve been working on customizing a Harley and am really excited how my ideas have come to fruition.  Check out the photo.
