The Santa Clause movie is still going strong but will be wrapping up near the end of February. Being on a movie set is much like camp when you were a kid. You spend so much time with these people, a lot of laughing and all working toward a common goal, and then you all go home – camp’s over. It’s always a bit of a let down. Even now, as we finish with each beautiful set, you watch people come in and tear it down.
But not too much time to feel down because as soon as SC3 wraps, I go right into promoting the Shaggy Dog with a trip to New York doing press. Even last week, Kristin Davis and Coal, the bearded collie actor that plays Shaggy, came down to the SC3 set to do some Shaggy promos. Cole the dog was quite well behaved and that was reinforced with constant treats of expensive fresh tri-tip beef! I was well behaved – but no Tri-tip. They also shot me against ‘green screen’ for the Disney Internet site. It will be fun to see what they do with it.
My brother and sister-in-law are in town visiting so they’ve been hanging out with me on the set. They just love the free food and couldn’t care less about me and Marty Short doing our best to make it impossible to be serious on set. We are like two kids in 7th grade.
