A wonderful follow-up to the classic holiday film The Santa Clause, The Santa Clause 2 picks up eight years later where Santa’s loyal elves consider Scott Calvin the best Santa ever. But now Santa’s got problems and things quickly go south when he finds out that his son, Charlie, has landed on this year’“naughty” list. If that’s not enough, he is informed of a newly discovered legal clause in his contract “The Mrs. Clause”. Santa must find a wife by Christmas Eve or he’ll lose his magic powers, his girth and will cease being Santa forever.
Desperate to help his son, find a suitable wife, and with only 28 days left, Scott heads back home, leaving a full-sized secret toy Santa creation to watch over things at the Pole. But when the substitute institutes some strange redefinitions of naughty and nice, putting Christmas at risk, it’s up to Scott to return with a new bag of magic to try to save Christmas. This touching and hilarious sequel is a ‘sure thing’ for kids, and a nostalgic ‘must’ for adults.
The Santa Clause 2 was released November 1, 2002; carries a G rating and is now available on DVD and VHS.
