About the Film

This larger-than-life hit comedy shines bright as a true holiday classic. Rooftop clatter leads to merry adventure after Santa falls down on the job —literally off the roof of Scott Calvin (TIM ALLEN) who discovers a car that includes “a Santa Clause”. Scott’s son Charlie (ERIC LLOYD) convinces dad to try on the red suit. Eight reindeer appear and pilot the pair to the North Pole where they soon discover that by donning the famous suit, dad must now accept all of Santa’s duties! Over the next year, a surprised, no-so-jolly Scott grows a Santa-sized tummy, a beard and a obsession with cookies, causing friends and business associates to wonder if he’s lost his marbles. No one believes in Scott except Charlie, who thinks his dad is perfectly suited for his new job. This concern leads Scott’s ex-wife, Larua (WENDY CREWSON) and new husband, Neil (JUDGE REINHOLD) to legally remove Scott’s visitation rights with his son. But alas, everyone, including Laura and Neil will once again believe in Scott Calvin and the magic of Santa.

The Santa Clause was released December 1994, carries a PG rating and earned Tim the 1994 People’s Choice Award for the Funniest Actor in a Comedy Motion Picture. It is now available on DVD and VHS.
